SLS Vocal Courses
Our singing courses are a popular option for those who would like to learn in a group. This consists of a 10 week course, providing 20 hours of teaching that focuses on various aspects of the voice and singing. Apply or request more information on our courses at this link
Lessons 1-2
An introduction to your voice! You will learn to recognise how your voice works through looking at diagrams and performing exercises. From these initial exercises we will work on using your voice in the correct way.
Lessons 3-6
These session work to tackle any difficulties you may be having and how to work through them by employing methods such as scales, articulation exercises and vowel sounds, which are record during the lesson. This will be available for you to take away and use for practice and warming up. You will begin to learn a song chosen between yourself and Natalie, that will challenge your voice on an achievable level. Alternatively the song can be your own, in which case this focus will enhance your delivery of it to a high standard.
Lessons 7-10
These lessons continue singing exercises on a more developed level, whilst incorporating those techniques into learning the chosen song. After learning the words & melody to the best standard work will now focus on more detailed aspects of performance such as stance, breathing, confidence and building up to the final lesson where you be presented with 2 options:
Option 1: to perform the chosen song for a small audience of musicians and industry reps (5-10 people) while Natalie records the session. This will be presented to you at the end of the lesson.
Option 2: to perform the chosen song for me while Natalie records the session. This will be presented to you at the end of the lesson.
The course works on not only your voice but also the performance and delivery of your voice in action. Option 1 is a popular choice for students who wish to develop their singing to a level where they feel comfortable performing for an audience. Alternatively, if you are just learning for fun and do not wish to perform in front of an audience, you can choose Option 2.
